Sir Christopher Wren's buildings can still be seen all over London and indeed elsewhere in England too, but St Paul's Cathedral was without doubt his masterpiece. The first and only Baroque cathedral in England, it was built between 1675 and 1710. The architect himself, Lord Nelson and the Duke of Wellington are just three of the famous people buried in its crypt. Sir Winston Churchill's funeral took place in the cathedral in 1965; and it was there that the Prince of Wales married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.
